Privacy Policy
This is a placeholder, not a legal document.
What follows is a plain-English description of how the product is designed to handle data, written so a lawyer has something concrete to work from. It has not been reviewed by counsel and must not be published as EasyMeet's binding privacy policy. A real policy is required before the app can be submitted to the App Store.
What we collect
- Account details: phone number, email address, and the sign-in method you chose.
- Profile details you enter: name, date of birth, photos, bio and interests.
- Location readings from your device while you are using the app.
- Messages, compliments and drinks you send through the app.
How location is handled
Precise location is the most sensitive thing we hold, and it is treated separately from everything else:
- Precise readings are stored in a restricted area of our database and are deleted on a schedule.
- Other members never receive a precise coordinate. They see either the venue you are at, or a coarse area several hundred metres across.
- You are only shown to others during the hours you have chosen to be visible.
- You can pause visibility at any time, which also removes your own access to the map.
- You can define private zones — for example around your home — in which you are never shown.
Who we share it with
Service providers needed to run the app, such as our hosting provider, authentication provider and push notification service. We do not sell personal data.
Your choices
- Change or delete your profile at any time.
- Request deletion of your account and the data attached to it.
- Withdraw location permission in your device settings, which stops the map working.
